This week on the First Run, Matt & Chris dive into the tidal wave that is ‘Black Panther’ mania. Do director Ryan Coogler and crew deliver one of the better, if not the best, film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Then it’s on to the U.K. import newly on Netflix, ‘The Ritual’. A bunch of buddies decide to bro-out and go for a getaway in Sweden and do some extreme hiking. While there, they run afoul of…something. Can they make it out of the woods before running into the Blair Witch or those cannibalistic weirdoes from ‘The Descent’? There’s the always reliable rundown of the big releases on Blu-Ray & DVD, featuring the Straight to DVD and Streaming Picks of the Week. Then Chris & Matt complete round 1 of the TFR Canon. It’s an attempt to hammer out a list of 10 films released during our time that represent The First Run. Will ‘Antichrist’ make the list? Captain Kangaroo Pimp?
